For the first time since America in 2018 the male members of the team based in the UK have had the opportunity to get together.
We have been very kindy invited by the FBHVC to bring our car, this weekend, to the Race Retro show at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire. A truly beautiful, if damp part of the world.
We loaded the car from the workshop and spent many a happy hour on the M25 and M40. Much fun and games was had in Pete’s van as we whiled away the hours
Upon arrival we pushed the car from the car park on to the stand and it looked great. This was actually the first time the new bonnet had been fitted to the car and despite a minor ground clearance issue we hope you’ll agree it looks really good.
We have recently been able to agree a new paint job and colour scheme for the car so the car was prepared ready for this but unfortunately we couldn’t get it done in time for this show. Hence the ‘work in progress’ finish you see here!
As the stand space is very limited it was decided that as we are at a motorsport oriented show it would be better to remove the bonnet for the duration of the show.
The other reason for the car looking so bare is unfortunately we have no sponsors this time around. Whilst this isn’t going to stop us competeing it is going to seriously limit how many runs we can take and our actions should we have any mechanical failures.
We are currently running on team member funding which is fantastic but also the opportunity for a company or organisation to spread their image particularly in the classic car world is there for the taking.
The following is just some of the paper magazines we featured in, not to mention the on-line coverage. Everyone who helped us last year was very grateful for our work in spreading the names of their organisations and this year it could be your name! Our website was also very popular and received a lot of interest from all over the world
On a completely different note, we have, today, received the last part of the engine. Our American engine tuner Bruce has been painstakingly working on an improved inlet manifold and throttle body to help us acheive our target speed.
This is something we have all been waiting for for months as we can now get on and tune the engine and get that large box ticked.
It’s a bit like christmas as while we have the box here we have been waiting until the whole team has assembled to open it and see what treasures Bruce has created for us
