We were fortunate enough to be invited by the Jensen Owners Club to take some space on their stand at this year’s Classic Car Show at the NEC this November.
The Jensen Owners Club was the first organisation to offer us any form of support so it was a real pleasure to spend the weekend with them. They do all work amazingly hard particularly Shaun the chairman (could probably do with getting a little more organised!) and Helen never seems to stop.
All weekend we were meeting an awful lot of interesting and interested people. To be honest we were blown away with the level of interest. When you are close to a project it tends to lose its impact, but seeing people impressed by what we are attempting gave us all a huge boost.
The car stood out at the show, mainly due to it being not in fantastic concours condition. Having a car with peeling paint, a homemade rear spoiler, a boot lid held on with garden gate hinges and some very fresh fibreglass where the sunroof used to be drew people from all around.
On the first day both drivers were on hand and we met a lot of press and other influential people, if any of the contacts we have made come to fruition the project will be an awful lot bigger than we ever imagined. Keep an eye on Practical Performance Car. We also met a very nice couple that are hoping to be able to help with live streaming of our runs. So keep an eye on this website or even better sign up to our newsletter and we’ll keep you informed when something exciting happens!
