Wednesday seems a bit like Groundhog Day. We prepared the car early in the morning; the parachute had been taken out for cleaning and inspection. After some mechanical checks and adjustment the car was towed out to the start of course 3 (the three mile course).
The organisers had closed the short course so the wait for a run was about 3 hours. We waited in line and patiently edged up towards the start. It was nice to have a chat to fellow drivers/riders and teams.
We had plenty of time to talk to a team from the Isle of Man who had brought their race prepared Honda C90 with a view to breaking the class record of 110 mph.
As we neared the start Ian got suited up and strapped into the car, we were just warming the car and doing a systems check when it became obvious the clutch had failed! If it weren’t for bad luck we would have no luck at all.
