We have finally made it to Bonneville.
After some mad last minute rushing about and a 13 hour drive across some beautiful parts of America.
Unfortunately, there was some rain on Wednesday night which has given the course a proper soaking.
This has led to a delay to the start of the event.
The excellent team at the SCTA now believe that provided the weather continues as it has since our arrival we may be able to start racing on Monday.
Fingers crossed!
The organisers recognise that with the shortened schedule, anything that could be done away from the salt was worth doing and will speed things up once we are.
As such we have taken the motorcycles to Tech Inspection at the local airfield to check for safety and rule abidance.
The inspector picked up a few minor details but in the whole were very pleased with the state of the bikes. Particularly considering that none of them had been to the salt before.
We are also using the extra time to finalise the tune on the car.
We got our crack team on the case!
More importantly we have also been using the talents of Night Motorsport an american based tuning company that have helped us overcome some of the unfamiliar features of our injection ECU.
As always the helpfulness and willingness to share of the motorsport community has come to the fore.
So, to simplify the above, we are very much in a ‘Hurry up and Wait’ situation.
